The High-Speed Switch is a lane divider/converger designed to split a flow of products while maintaining product pitch. Typically, these units will receive a single line flow and switch it into two, three, or four lanes of output. Product flow can be split at high speeds — SpanTech High-Speed Switch systems are currently in place successfully running at up to 300 fpm.
Description
The High-Speed Switch transports product on a series of sliding carriers. Each carrier slides freely on a pair of carrier rods which are supported between and driven by a pair of SpanTech’s MonoSpan conveyor chains.
The revolutionary technology used to switch the carriers into separate lanes is unlike any other used in the industry today. This allows the High-Speed Switch to operate at much greater speeds than comparable switches on the market.
Additionally, the SpanTech High-Speed Switch does not require precision timing to operate successfully – it can even be operated by manually toggling the pneumatic valve – there is no requirement for a PLC.
The High-Speed Switch is offered with three controls options:
- No Controls (if you already have your own PLC or signal to control the switch)
- 50/50 Split (an economic “plug and play” system which automatically splits the incoming product into 50% left, 50% right)
- Full PLC (for complex switching logic or multiple lane switches)
