Description
SpanTech’s J-Trax chain utilizes a bare rod concept for the product zone. The carrying surface consists of 5/32” stainless steel chain rods with a 12mm pitch, supported between SpanTech’s SuperTight chain side links. The SuperTight side links are the driving force for the chain; no central sprockets or center support rails are necessary, and there’s no wire-to-wire friction and resulting metal fatigue. The simple design of J-Trax — and resulting ease of chain assembly/disassembly — avoids the difficult installation, maintenance problems, and extensive downtime often associated with wire mesh conveyors.
Unlike all-plastic belts or even stainless steel open-mesh belting, the parallel rods of J-Trax have no contact points to accumulate and hide debris. The open rod design (besides facilitating rapid cooling of bakery items) lets debris or excess material from many types of food products fall through rather than build up. Stainless steel is among the easiest to clean and sanitize of all possible materials, and J-Trax conveyors are of course fully washdown-rated.
As with all SpanTech conveyors, the completely captured chain means no take-ups, no tensioners, and no catenaries are needed. Multiple horizontal curves are possible, with a minimum bend radius just as small as that of SpanTech’s standard SuperTight chain.
